A Beautiful Knee Length Short Wedding Gown
This adventuresome, yet sophisticated lace taffeta, long sleeve dress is a sweeping look for petite brides, who might be worried about looking a little too short or skinny.
Romona Keveza uses silk taffeta here to make this dress, stylish, comfortable, and very chic. Silk taffeta is a really smart decision for anyone, who wants a fabric that will last throughout the wedding event without getting overly stressed from wear. Moreover, it is not only the choice of Ramona’s fabric here, which makes it so perfect for a thin bride, it is also her excellent choice to use delicate, re-embroidered, Alencon-lace overlay. The lace assists in accentuating the perfect fit.
Both of the materials used on this lovely gown, are slightly stiffer fabrics than a bridal gown made of jersey knit, raw silk, or crepe. The fact that silk taffeta is stiffer, does not hinder its ability to appear sophisticated, luxe, yet light and airy. Silk taffeta accentuated with re-embroidered Alencon lace, is much more forgiving around the hips than say a wedding dress made of organza, and accented with cheaper Chantilly lace appliques.
Organza has a tendency to pull at the seamline, when properly fitted to the body. Thats because it is really meant to be used as an overlay over muslin. If this was a plus size bride, and this dress was made of organza, it would not help conceal the bride’s belly fat, anymore than it would conceal hip bones. Stay away from materials that do not have any body to them such as- Jersey knit, organza and crepe fabrics. It is also worth mentioning that these fabrics can be a seamtress worse nightmare. They simply do not perform well when altered. The fabric on a cut end, has a tendacy to want to cup inward and eventually that turns into a ceased, inward-facing, fold. They also like to snag or pucker when taken in or hemmed. Leave these complicated fabrics to the teenagers and their prom dresses.
Everyone can see how this dress is tucked and nipped in all the right places, which creates just the right amount of fullness around the buttocks, and hips. Not only does this dress help to accent all the refined features that make petite women desirable, it is also effective in concealing bony provinces. Frankly, there are quite a few small ladies researched, who said their bony joints really bothered them. No woman wants to highlight their trouble area on their big day. Needless to say, just look at how well this dress fits the tall size 0 model. If you have long arms, and are looking for a gown to cool those worries you might have about them…, something along this line, really is a fantastic choice.
- Dress A’s highlights are that it helps to conceal: Shoulder blades, collar bones, small chest sizes, broad shoulders, elbows, and long arms.
Straight Sheath Gown
This straight, princess cut, waistline is another perfect match for a thinner beauty. Lace has a way of creating an illusion of fullness, without appearing overbearing or heavy. The one thing that brides need to keep in mind is the fabric(s) of her gown. Heavy satin materials have a tendency to weigh down petite women. While this bulky material keeps a larger bride from looking too top heavy, it will not have the same effect for a smaller bride. If a bride wants her wedding dress to weigh more than she does on her wedding day, satin fabric would be the perfect choice to choose.
What I also like about this particular dress, is its stunning, boat cut, neckline. Which happens to be a really good feature for hiding collar bones, or slightly concave breast plate. Boat necklines tend to accent a bride’s pretty neck, and striking facial features. This neckline serves a dual purpose of hiding and showcasing. It has a tendency to mask slightly slouchy or rounded shoulders. Boat necklines are good at hiding body features such as; the sternum, which is most often more noticeable if a bride, chooses a plunging neckline. It is my personal opinion that the lace also adds to the dresses overall look, and is what gives it the feel sophistication and elegance. Maybe that is why I have selected two different lace dresses for the shape of these brides.
Dress B helps to conceal:Â Rounded shoulders, shoulder blades, collar bones, concave breast plate, height issues.
Off the Shoulder Looks
This amazing Rosa Clara bridal gown, is my favorite for skinny brides. The off the shoulder neckline makes for a nice distraction for too much collar bone, and even helps flat chested brides. The beautifully tucked darts at the waistline also helps to silhouette the appearance of curves. Especially needed for woman who happens to be built straight up and down. The gown’s appeal is how it is able to create a dainty and refined figure. Another feature to take note of is it’s unique waistline. Notice how the striking princess darts align and spotlight the waistline. A bride who wears a dress designed like this one, should be walking down a Paris runway. Not only do the darts showcase this brides remarkable waistline, they are an essential necessity when wanting to accent a thinner bride’s, refined feminine figure. A dress like this one, also would help to lengthen a petite-size women’s torso.
Not all of us can be so blessed with a perfect figure, but, hey that is what this article is about. Celebrating the fact that we are all built uniquely different, but, admitting to ourselves that there also features about our bodies, in which we don’t always think looks the best when standing in front of the mirror. It is okay if you are not happy with the way you look. People should not fault anyone for wanting to look or feel better about themselves. Therefore, if a petite bride wants to look taller on her big day, then a dress designed like this one, will definitely do the trick.
Necklines need to be paid particular interest to. Too low cut of a neck can show off more than just a ladies cleavage. See how each of these featured necklines work to refine the model’s physique. Each one of these delicate necklines rest well on each one of these models’ facial features. Necklines are a great tool to help accentuate bustlines, shoulder lines, and stance. They can even assist in making her appear a bit taller.
